What we collect on this site
When you visit fermiphysics.com, we use:
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4 — aggregate site traffic, referrers, and which pages perform.
- PostHog (US region, hosted by PostHog Inc.) — product analytics, anonymous session replay (with sensitive form inputs masked), and A/B testing. PostHog Inc. is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which provides the legal basis for transferring EU personal data to the US under GDPR Article 45.
How we decide whether to ask for consent
The cookies and tracking above need explicit consent only in some jurisdictions. We detect your country from your IP address (via Vercel's geolocation header) on each visit:
- If you're in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you'll see a consent banner the first time you visit. The third-party scripts above don't load and no analytics cookies are set until you click Accept. If you click Reject, none of them ever load on this device.
- Everywhere else (including the US), the scripts load on page view without an explicit prompt. There is no federal cookie-consent law in the US, and our use of these tools does not trigger California's CCPA "Do Not Sell" disclosure requirement (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising).
If you'd prefer not to be tracked regardless of where you're visiting from, you can block third-party cookies and scripts in your browser, or use a privacy-focused browser extension. We won't try to work around that.
Form submissions
If you submit your email through the "Get early access" form, we forward it to our internal Slack channel so the team can follow up. We do not currently store it in a CRM or share it with third parties.
Alongside your email, the Slack message includes the page path you submitted from, the referring URL
(if any), any UTM parameters in the URL, and a truncated form of your IP address
(for IPv4, the last octet is removed — e.g. 198.51.100.0/24; for IPv6, only the first
/64 prefix is kept). We use this strictly to spot abuse patterns and to understand which traffic
sources convert. We do not store full IP addresses.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can change your consent choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. For access, correction, or deletion requests, email hello@fermiphysics.com.
